Oxford Education Analytics is a company that undertakes research into learning and learning progression in education systems in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. It specialises in longitudinal studies that monitor trends in learning and the performance of educational systems over time.

Our Directors
David Johnson
David Johnson is a Chartered Educational Psychologist who studies learning and cognition and is particularly interested in tracking learning progression in national systems of education over time. His recent work includes time series studies of learning in Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Sudan.
David is Professorial Fellow of St Antony’s College and University Reader in Comparative and International Education, University of Oxford. He has held a number of grants including the portfolio of Programme Research lead for the ESRC/DFID-funded Raising Learning Outcomes in Education Systems and currently, co-Principal Investigator on the Nigeria Research Team in the RISE Research programme. David works closely with a number of organisations including the World Bank.
Brooks Newmark
Brooks is currently a Visiting Academic (Politics Dept) and DPhil Candidate (Education Dept) at Oxford University. In addition Brooks has been a guest lecturer in politics, education and business at Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Cambridge and Moscow State Universities.
Brooks founded the charity A Partner In Education (www.apartnerineducation.org) in 2010 and has built a primary school for 300 children, a secondary school for 100 children and a teacher training centre in Rwanda.
Brooks was the Member of Parliament for Braintree (2005-15) and served in the Coalition Government as Minister for Civil Society, with responsibility for charities, the voluntary sector and youth (2014). Brooks currently sits on the U.K. Government’s Rough Sleepers Advisory Panel and is the author of ‘Housing First: Housing led Solutions to Rough Sleeping and Homelessness.’
Prior to entering politics Brooks was a Senior Partner at Apollo Management LP, a leading International Private Equity firm. Brooks is currently an Angel investor in various start ups.
Brooks was educated at Harvard College (AB History), Harvard Business School (MBA Finance) and Oxford University (MSc Education)
